You wouldn't know it to look at Steve, a noticeably cerebral-looking man, but he's an expert in the disruptive. At least he is in the burgeoning field of Disruptive Technologies and Innovations. Disruptive technologies make products or price points so groundbreaking they change markets in unexpected ways, sometimes even creating whole new sets of consumers. Steve's ability to embrace the advanced and traverse the cutting edge has served him well throughout a career in which he has played a key role in applying technology for national security. He has served as the Deputy Associate Director of National Intelligence for Science and Technology (DADNI/S&T), which oversees those areas for many DoD organizations. Before this, Steve spent a solid decade at the U.S. Congress as a professional staff member on the House Defense Appropriations Subcommittee where he reviewed a wide variety of military and intelligence research, intelligence and acquisition programs. His work has earned him many distinctions including being named by the National Journal to the "Hill 100," for Defense Transformation. In 2005, Space News identified him as one of the "Top 10 Making a Difference in Space" putting him alongside the likes of the director of NASA and the director of the European Space Agency, as well as other leaders in commercial, military, and government space sectors. Before all this, Steve worked at the Pentagon as a senior civilian analyst for the Navy.
