Matt is an unapologetic Baltimorean. He voluntarily drinks Natty Boh, thinks eating crabs with a mallet is lazy, and gets visibly upset when reminded of the Orioles '96 Championship loss to the Yankees. Get him on the subject of advertising, and he really gets nostalgic. "When it's done right, it's a powerful thing," he says with a glint in his eye (though that may be the Scotch talking). "When a message spurs people to act, whether it's to start a revolution or buy a laptop, it's driving them on multiple levels: Creatively, psychologically, socially, emotionally. In his 10-year advertising career, Matt has chased down big ideas for brands including Comcast, Black & Decker, Motorola, and National Geographic. In ADG, he found a kindred spirit, an agency driven by creativity and infatuated with the ultimate end result: a grateful client. When he's not pulling muscles on the baseball field or arguing about local politics, Matt sits on the board of the American Advertising Federation's Baltimore chapter and is a regular online contributor for The Baltimore Sun. He also holds degrees in English and mass communications from Towson University and a master's in teaching from Johns Hopkins, but he'd trade them in a second for a chance to play in the World Series of Poker. « back
