While other kids were dreaming of becoming astronauts or ballerinas, Mary was growing up in Poughkeepsie, New York, dreaming of becoming a Disney animator. After high school, she followed her creative dream and enrolled in the 3D animation program at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Savannah, Georgia. Her studies at SCAD included a graphic design course that changed the trajectory of her dream. As Mary explains, "I ended up getting bumped from a 3D course due to class size, so I enrolled in a graphic design course instead. I fell in love on the first day and the rest is history!" She ended up receiving a bachelor of fine arts degree with double major in graphic design and photography. more »

While Mary's formative training was primarily in print design, she has expanded her professional portfolio to include experience in web design and some dabbling in coding, which she believes has helped her understand how to design sites for maximum technical function and usability. Most recently, Mary worked for Millennium Marketing Solutions in Annapolis, Maryland and Rockland Studios in Baltimore, Maryland where she gained experience with brand logos, brochures, marketing presentation materials, and web design for a wide array of clients. When she's not designing for clients, Mary enjoys being creative at home.
