In Plato's Symposium the great playwright Aristophanes expresses the opinion that the gods have cut the human race in half, thus making love the worldwide pursuit of finding the side of yourself that you lost, the side that completes you. He must have had ADG's CFO, Karen, in mind. Wife of ADG founder, Jeff Antkowiak, Karen is the yin to his yang. He is creative. She is concrete. He wears his heart on his sleeve. She wears a green eyeshade. He's all about visionary ideas. She's all about the digits. "I love the fact that with numbers, there's always an answer," she says. "The problems can always be solved." Karen has been the master of the ADG books since the company's inception 18 years ago. Her work makes creative a profitable commodity that keeps the lights on and the people paid. Does she have a favorite number? "Yes," she answers without the slightest hesitation, "four. That's the number of children Jeff and I have together."
