What makes Evan such an effective marketing professional? "I would say it's that I spent so many years not as a marketing professional." He started his career as a consultant with Westinghouse's old defense group and then later with PriceWaterhouse. "I learned to be clinical, analytical, and mathematical in my approaches to problems," he says. "That's still the basis upon which I approach marketing." As chief strategist, Evan molds the creative process and its products so that they conform to constructive client needs. "At ADG we don't deal in pretty pictures and lofty words," he says. "We spend client budgets judiciously to find carefully targeted audiences, meet specific goals, and deliver scientifically honed messages. We do all of this because there is only one real aim for us: To deliver the client a reasonable ROI. Believe it or not, that's highly creative work."
