Sit. Stay. Speak. Heel. Everyone has his or her own idea of what "training" is supposed to be. But Craig, well, he's an expert. "I've spent my whole professional life training professionals on aspects of their jobs," he says. "My career is all about finding a way to make learning interesting." The job isn't easy. "So often I hear professionals say, 'I just want to get my certificate and be done.' Well, that's a shame because in many cases the information that they are asked to learn is critical. That's why I work so hard to use technology in exciting ways that captivate an audience." Craig first learned to teach not as an instructor but as a salesperson selling ski equipment. "My first love is being outdoors on a mountain in a snow storm, so my earliest jobs were teaching customers which equipment to buy and how to use it." more »

His ADG cubicle has the same view as an Alpine lodge, since he's posted maps and photos of mountain faces from all over the world. But these days it's less about the slopes and more about the cutting edge. Craig uses a variety of multimedia tools and methods to create training that's interesting and that the students really retain. "You don't want to pound information into their brains," Craig says laughing. "You want to trick it in there!" « back
